Challenge
While the brief was simple - launch Modern Warfare II amonst gaming communities in Southeast Asia, the execution came with the objective of releasing Activisions biggest ever in decades! (No pressure) Furthermore, how do we make the experience relatable with the game's narrative and its lead characters?
What we did?
We planned a launch activation giving gamers a complete online as well as offline experience. We took the famous tagline of the protagnist 'stay frosty' and filmed an event bang in the centre of the heart of Asia - Singapore. The event was further promoted with hype videos and aftermovies on social platforms. A unique outline VFX was implemented in the output films, adding in the electrifying experience to the launch assets.
Results
Call of Duty Modern Warfare II became the biggest game launch of the decade, making ripples globally. It further went on to becoming a sensation in the gaming industry and topped the charts and stayed there formajority of 2022. Mission success!
